Why Join the NSW Parents Council?

1. Our campaign to promote choice in schooling, foster quality schooling and to achieve funding equity goes on every day.
2. Our work is undertaken for the benefit of all non-government school children, their parents and their school communities.
3. Significant government funding has been achieved since 1962. However, today some 33% of Australian school children attend non-government schools and only receive around 20% of the funds, allocated by Governments for schooling. Your support is needed to continue the campaign today and into the future.
4. Your Parent body will receive ongoing support and information from the Council. Various communication tools are offered such as regular newsletter with contributions from Principals and other professionals; a shorter news item emailed for inclusion into school newsletters or for discussion at Parents Association meetings.
5. The supply of parenting guides covering a wide selection of issues such as bullying, literacy and numeracy in the home, cyber and mobile phone management, keeping your teenagers safe- just to name a few.
6. Inclusion into our Regional Forums groups allowing Parents Associations to meet and discuss issues concerning Parents Associations such as friend-raising and fund-raising. Also allowing the Council to gather feedback concerning our advocacy.
