The Awards of Excellence program was established in 2007 by the NSW Parents Council. The Council is pleased to see the awards continue to grow. In 2009 Campion Books are proud supporters of the initiative, providing resource books to the winners of the two categories (individual and group). Furthe inforamtion on Campion books can be found on their website
Many parents and schools have previously taken up the opportunity to nominate their volunteer parents in recognition of the outstanding commitment and hard work so many parents give to their children's school. This year make sure your parents are recognised.
A vast pool of potential volunteers exists within each school community. Their expertise and time can greatly enhance a school. It is this gift that parents can be recognised for.
Recognising and rewarding parent volunteers is an important aspect of volunteer management. People thrive when they see that their performance is appreciated.
By nominating parents at your school for the NSW Parents Council Awards of Excellence you will be acknowledging the fact that your school and its community appreciate the gift that these special parents have given. Often volunteer parents are not recognised and do not seek recognition, however to be nominated for an award is a very special way of thanking those that do not seek to be thanked.
