High Potential Students Not Forgotten

January 4, 2016 News

The Association of Independent Schools NSW have launched a program to support schools in their efforts to optimise the learning opportunities of students. In particular, the needs of strong students who have higher learning potential have been addressed.

The ELEVATE program comes at a time when there is considerable interest, both nationally and internationally, in reshaping schooling to optimise the strengths of all learners. The program will support educators to collaboratively design and implement powerful practices to lift learning outcomes for high potential learners.

ELEVATE has been initiated by the Association of Independent Schools of NSW (AISNSW) and amplified by strategic partnerships with the UK-based Innovation Unit (IU), and the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL).

Funding for this program has been provided by the Australian Government Students First Support Fund and AISNSW. The impetus for ELEVATE stems from growing concerns about the underperformance of the top 40% of Australian learners, substantiated by national and international research and assessment.
